Who we are
Small Business New Zealand (SBNZ) is a free resource website for New Zealand small business owners, published in partnership with BSP Advisory Group.

What we collect
You can browse every resource, guide and article on this site without giving us any personal information.
We only collect personal information when you choose to give it to us:
Business Climate Survey — your answers to the survey questions, and (optionally) your name, email address and phone number if you enter the draw for a Business Reality Session or ask for a free chat with a mentor.
Newsletter signup — your email address, if you ask us to send you updates.
Free session requests — your name, email address, phone number (optional) and any context you share when you ask someone to walk you through your scorecard results or a downloaded guide.
How we use your information
We use survey responses in aggregate to understand how New Zealand small businesses are travelling and to improve the resources on this site.
If you enter the prize draw, we use your contact details to run the draw and to contact the winner. The draw is run fortnightly.
If you ask for a free chat or a walkthrough of your results, your details are passed to a registered business mentor at BSP Advisory Group so they can contact you. No one else receives them.
If you sign up for updates, we use your email address to send them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We will not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone else.
Where your information is stored
Submissions are stored securely in our hosted database, which is hosted in a managed cloud environment. Only the SBNZ team and BSP Advisory Group can access them.
Survey answers and contact details are never displayed publicly on this site.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us for the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
To make a request, contact BSP Advisory Group and we will take care of it.
Cookies and analytics
We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to count how many people visit the site and which pages are most useful. This data is aggregated and does not identify you.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell browsing data.
